Safe Inspection of Scaffolds

Target Audience

Site supervisors and managers who are responsible for inspecting and checking scaffolds for safe use, and for signing certificates and registers in accordance with statutory regulations.

Aim

To develop in Delegates an understanding of scaffolding components, forms of construction and inspection procedures of basic scaffolds, to comply with current legislation and Codes of Practice.

Upon successful completion of this course the attendee will be able to:

  • Understand regulations and approved Codes of Practice.
  • Explain scaffolding terminology.
  • Identify tubes, boards and fittings and ladders.
  • Describe use of gin wheels and ropes.
  • Explain use of Scaffold ties.
  • Explain construction regulations and recommendations of basic scaffolds to include; Independent, Birdcage, Towers, System scaffolds and practical inspection and tagging systems.
  • Prepare inspection reports.

Basic Scaffolding Erection and Dismantling

Target Audience

The course is designed for scaffolders, scaffolding supervisors and anyone who has to erect, dismantle or adapt scaffolding as part of their duties.

Provide knowledge, understanding and skills to safely and systematically erect, dismantle scaffolding as part of their duties.

Target Audience

Those who are working at high elevations such as steel fixers, scaffolders, mechanics, assemblers, riggers, inspectors and others.

To provide Knowledge and understanding of legal requirements, hazards associated with working at height and fall protection requirements.

  • Hazards associated with work at height and medical fitness requirement
  • Different activities and hazard (associated with working at height).
  • Proper planning and supervision and Safe systems of working at height.

Scaffold Supervisors Course

Target Audience

The Course is designed for those who are responsible for the supervision, direction and instruction of scaffolding operations e.g. Charge-hands, Foreman, Supervisors, Contract Supervisors and Management.
